Faith changed my heart to love thy neighbor. Love is a common thread. Life is short, and you were made to love and be loved. This is why I am a photographer, giving people moments to look back on to remember the good times when we were loved.
Does "traditional" and "posed" makes you want to run away? Is your understanding of how photographers do portraits still kind of murky? Unless you're a model, how do you know if a photographer can instruct you, your body parts, your facial expressions, to LOOK like you, authentically? How do you know if you'll even feel comfortable in front of their camera? You want to look good, and feel fabulous in photos. You want a photographer who extracts your personalities for portraits, and also blends in with your wedding guests to catch that laughter and the candids of vibrant life at your event.
Wedding collections begin at $3750 + tax for a full day of Ling & a second photographer/assistant. But most of all, Trailing Twine Photography clients are investing in top-notch service & incredible images to enjoy beyond the wedding day. We value marriage & documenting the abundant life.
First step is to contact Ling to schedule a phone chat, or even better, a meeting in-person with you and your fiance. The first step is for me to learn about your personalities, and your wedding day plans. This in-person planning meeting when we first meet helps me get to know your vision of the day, and you learn a little more about me. This is the first step in my mission to inspire your love story, and make memories of real, honest exchanges of love. May your wedding images be a reminder of your love & commitment that officially began on that wedding day.
SCHEDULE A MEETING
At every in-person meeting, you get to see what a wood print looks and feels like. You'll also see the difference between a wedding album and a photobook. Touch and feel the leather covers. Flip through real wedding albums, look at how the pages are designed.
SCHEDULE A MEETING
After booking, we will schedule your engagement session so that you'll learn some of the instructions, and learn how I shoot. Because we are all unique photographers, unique couples and people, it's important that we know how to avoid awkward wedding photos. The engagement shoot is the #1 way to get authentic, natural images. I offer a basic engagement session in my Wildflower Meadow in Brooklyn, CT.
You can make your engagement session with me an incredible "date" day of incorporating your hobbies, pets, adventures, as well as learning all the different ways to natural unposed moments. If you're like me, we love doing outdoor things and think it's awesome to invest in documenting a "day in the life". Life is so short, and I believe in cherishing our good times through images.
Within a couple weeks after the engagement session, we review our photos for the first time. This is where I learn about the types of shots/poses/instructions that BOTH of you really love. Even though y'all aren't supermodels, you'll see how your photos express how you're supermodels in your OWN way. This image review is also where I find out which types of images and facial expressions WORK and that's what I'll focus on in your wedding day portrait time (which is usually a shorter time frame). We can meet in your home, or in my client meeting space "The Country Nook" that's part of my home in Brooklyn, CT.
The mission of Trailing Twine Photography is to make imagery to inspire your love story, and make memories of real, honest exchanges of love. My vision is for couples to be inspired in their marriages to grow in love & commitment beyond the wedding day.
"Photojournalistic" or "documentary" photography means that we tell a story from images. We scout for scenes and action, and instruct and photograph a person's movement during portraits. Then we infuse emotion into the shot by having you think, do, or speak something specific. BAM!
Get the full experience by meeting with me within a few weeks after your engagement session or wedding. Tell me which is "that look of love". Rate your favorite images with me for your engagement book, or Homecraft Leatherbook. I also make sure you have that USB drive of pics in your hand. We can meet in your home, or in my own space called The Country Nook. Other alternative meeting spaces are: The Farm at Summit Wynds near Holden, MA, Sofa Cafe in Framingham, MA, or Heirloom Market & Cafe in Wethersfield, CT.
YES, YOU GET DIGITAL IMAGES ON A USB DRIVE, WITH A PRINT RELEASE! But...
Life is short. Focus on the moments that matter. That also includes, literally, seeing your printed images every day. Let's create PRINTS, WALL ART, BOOKS, that will serve as gentle reminders of people in our lives that we cherish.
Contact me to help you spice up your home with beautiful imagery. Way better than Instagram.
If you're getting married at any of these locations & you book Trailing Twine, you get a free Homecraft Leatherbook wedding album at no additional cost. Yup.

Caitlin & Alex:
"We used Trailing Twine to shoot our wedding and it was the best decision we ever made. Ling was courteous, kind, professional, and outgoing. She even traveled to NH from CT for our engagement photos. On our wedding day, she really made it easy by going to both the grooms and brides locations while we got ready. Pictures came out AMAZING!! Couldn't be happier with our decision and would recommend to everyone looking for a great wedding photographer!!!"
JENnifer & BRAD:
"If you are looking for a photojournalistic photographer, Ling is your girl! She has this amazing ability to capture pictures and moments that are true to the day and what is going on. Looking back on all our photos we are truly able to relive the day and everything that happened. Ling went out of her way in every single aspect of the process and this made it easier for us to know that she had everything under control."
BRYNNE & DON:
"Ling gets to know you leading up to the wedding and personalizes your photography experience. She captured our dream photos on our wedding day and delivered them in an impressive amount of time. She captured our dream photos on our wedding day and delivered them in an impressive amount of time. You can't go wrong using Ling as a photographer on one of the most important days of your life."
SARAH & ELI
Everything turned out better than we could have hoped-- the pictures look phenomenal and captured the more "natural" look I was hoping for. Prior to booking Trailing Twine, I was worried that my wedding photographs would look stiff and posed, but Ling made sure everything felt natural and that our wedding's beautiful setting was highlighted. Couldn't have asked for a better wedding photography experience.
When you're in love with someone, you can't stop talking about them. You'll find me talking about my husband's funny quirks. I met Neil when I lived in Oregon. We both volunteered for a homeless ministry, and were just acquaintances for 3 years before we became loyal friends, and having long conversations at coffee shops. It wasn't until I announced my plans to move back home to Connecticut when Neil realized he didn't want to live life without me. When we first became an "item" we both knew, without a shadow of a doubt, that we were meant to be life partners. There's a lot more to this story... I'd love to tell you over a glass of wine how crazy our story is!
