Meet the Team

Our team is for the couple that does not want to rely on a solo “lone ranger” photographer nor a giant company contracting out random photographers. There’s 9 of us, but don’t worry, you don’t have to pick! We have worked together for YEARS.

We come together as a team of down-to-earth creative friends, ready to document your day with a natural & photojournalistic style. We work as duos for short hourly coverage, or trios for full day weddings (and more if you add on videography).

Your team is selected and organized by Ling in advance, based on location, schedules, and your engagement session (if you choose to add an engagement session to your collection). I would love to introduce you to our team members. They’re all so fun, down-to-earth, and just overall great human beings that I’m blessed to become friends with. All the photos you see here on our website have been taken by all of these talented folks!

Ling

lead photo, video

Where it began

I started Trailing Twine Photography in 2013 in Oregon. Since 2015, I've gradually developed our core team working weddings throughout New England. I love logistics, editing, and team communication.

Branden

second photographer, videographer

Meet Branden

Branden and I both grew up on farms, and were in FFA together back in high school days. Branden eventually became a photography teacher, and saw me at a business networking event at the school. Branden is easygoing and loves being creative with our team.

Tabitha

team assistant

Meet Tabitha

Tabitha has been photographing weddings as long as Ling has, but has grown her family portrait business. Tabitha enjoys being an extra hand on wedding days and is also amazing with coordinating kids for photos!

Emily

lead photographer

Meet Emily

Emily has been shooting weddings for more than a decade. She started working with our team in 2022 with mostly Massachusetts weddings. Clients love her fun, down-to-earth personality and professionalism.

Danielle

second photographer, team assistant

Meet Danielle

Danielle has worked with all of us, and everyone just loves her friendly and polite personality. She just had a 2026 baby, and works with our team a few times a year. Danielle lives in Newport, Rhode Island and bakes amazing sourdough bread with flour she mills herself!

Jacqueline

second photographer, team assistant

Meet Jacqueline

Jacqueline went to the same high school as Branden and Ling. We reconnected at a church event and became friends. In 2016, Jacqueline first assisted with a memorable mountaintop shoot. There have been many adventures since then!

Jeff

lead & second photographer

Meet Jeff

Jeff has been shooting Connecticut weddings for decades. We were in portrait mentorship program back in 2019. Later, we met up over espresso at Whole Foods in Milford, CT to chat about film photography and weddings!

Sarah

team assistant

Meet Sarah

Sarah was introduced to Ling through our chef friend, Jennifer Coomey of Hallowed Heron Dining. It's been several years of friendships and adventures in our team. Sarah is a ray of sunshine, being an extra set of hands at a busy wedding.

Kevin

videographer

Meet Kevin

Kevin has been working with our team since 2020. I met Kevin while working on behalf of another photographer who almost scammed us. (Ironically, Jeff shared a similar experience as us). Anyways, Kevin has been amazing with our team and clients!

our signature style

Natural, non-posey poRTRAITS

Photos don’t have to always be awkward! Formally-posed group photos are very brief, but fun & laid-back portraits with direction for natural movement is our jam. Just be you, so your photos represent YOU! We’ll get to know eachother, whether it’s through an engagement session, or video meeting with your photography team.

True-to-Life Style

natural, true-to-life editing style for all photos and videos

we're all about a natural look

NATURAL photo style

No matter which team member is capturing your wedding, all photos are edited in a consistent style. Trailing Twine Photography only works with clients who ABSOLUTELY LOVE our natural, true-to-life colors, sprinkled with some black & white photos. A natural, true-to-life style means:

– colors as the eyes see it

– not “dark & moody” nor film/vintage

– not “bright & airy” editing

bright & airy editing style

This is definitely not our style. The bright & airy style is bright, with colors slightly desaturated and sometimes having a brighter film feel.

Our True-to-life edit

This is our style and we don't like to deviate from it. Colors and skin tones are realistic, as the eye sees it. Greens are green!

dark & moody editing style

This is not our style. The colors are darker, and often very warm with a vintage or film feel. Skin tones are darker and sometimes greens are desaturated.

invest in teamwork experience & professionalism

PHOTO TEAM

There are plenty of photographers who can photograph a wedding. But how do you know if you can rely on just one? The reason why we work as a team is because a wedding day is very busy. There’s a lot happening, and having a team assistant for all of our weddings helps to get the photography going smoothly. As a team, we give each other a hand, and we make sure that we help each other out.

Each wedding we photograph includes a team assistant. The team assistant helps with clearing clutter out of the way for the lead (or second photographer), gives a hand to our videographer when needed, has a camera handy in case the lead photographer needs reception details photographed, and serves as support for the photographer/s on the wedding day. They are instrumental in organizing family group photos, and helping people and places to look good in photos!

The team assistant also serves as a backup photographer in case of any emergency.

photographing life's best moments

Life is all about connections.

Trailing Twine Photography LLC started in 2013 with a farm girl in Oregon. Ling brought the love for agriculture into her new photography business, while still working a career as a dairy tech. Ling realized that home in Connecticut is where the heart is, and became a full-time photographer of families, weddings, and growing businesses. As a team of photographer friends, we have photographed hundreds of weddings all over New England and destinations. More importantly, working with each other and learning about the people we photograph is essential to what we do. It's about who you know.
