Southbury, CT Wedding Venue | Heritage Hotel | First Look Favorites

Check out my favorite images of Deana and Dave's January wedding at Heritage Hotel in Southbury, Connecticut. This blog post is of the first part of their wedding day: the first look and some sweet portraits!

Okay, guys. There were many neat photos of Deana and Dave’s wedding day on January 17, 2016 at Heritage Hotel in Southbury, CT, that I’m going to show you my absolute favorites in chunks! So stay tuned for some more amazing photography in the next couple weeks!

Dave and Deana are both middle school chorus teachers who knew eachother through Connecticut choir competitions and events. Their life journeys eventually brought them together two years ago, when they realized their hearts were singing a similar tune of love.

I do love winter weddings, and if you love photos as much as Deana and I, you can do a “first look” that offers you more time for photos of you two before the sun goes down. A “first look” is where I photograph the groom seeing his bride for the first time that day. Usually it’s in a neat, more private location, such as this stone garden area nestled in the Heritage Hotel complex.

Wow! I CANNOT GET OVER THE BRILLIANCE ON DAVE’S FACE! This is why I love this first look time, it is more laid-back with more expressions.

After a few minutes of exchanging private words, we took an adventure on golf carts to Pomperaug golf course, located right next to Heritage Hotel. When Deana had visited the venue, they discovered a neat bridge surrounded by pine trees.

Ahh! Love is in the air, though it be chilly!

Right before the ceremony…… I caught this candid moment with Deana embracing her dear daughter Grace. These times are so precious!

The love of a mother and daughter, is a great gift to be cherished. Next up is the ceremony and reception in Heritage Hotel’s Timbers Room, decorated with DIY woodsy wedding decor. I can’t wait to share!
