October 3, 2015 was Deanna and Jerry’s wedding at this rustic wedding venue in Woodstock, Connecticut. The Inn at Woodstock Hill was a working farm decades ago, which was where Jerry’s father had actually worked when he was younger. There couldn’t be a better place for Deanna and Jerry to celebrate their marriage with their family and close friends!
Check out this amazing dahlia garden. It’s like the Secret Garden! Because it was drizzly wet earlier, we waited until the rain passed to take a stroll outside for the wedding images Deanna and Jerry wanted. I have never seen so many dahlias in one area in my life. Maybe I need to explore more! 😉
At the back of the Inn at Woodstock Hill, there is a huge open area of wilderness. Deanna and Jerry both love the outdoors, and hike almost every weekend and any chance they get. So it didn’t surprise me that they were totally up for getting up on this stone wall for an epic moment.
The image below with their dogs was taken on the spacious front yard of the Inn. We love our fur babies!

Deanna and Jerry are a “match made in heaven”. They met online on Match.com, but the first real sparks began when they met before hiking the trail on the White Mountains, NH, with their dogs. It turned into a 9 hour date! Their dogs also met for the first time, too!
Deanna got creative and wrote her vows on a mini-scroll, and attached them to a matchbox. This was the receptacle for the vows, which was attached to Deanna’s doggy Eli, to carry over to them during the ceremony! Because it was a rainy day, the ceremony was held inside in the library, which is a colorful, old-fashioned, bright and cozy room. These windows which you see here is a good spot for altar flowers and vows!
Since that special hike, Deanna and Jerry with their well-behaved fur kids Eli, Penny, and Cooper, are all one tight family now.
The chairs for this indoor ceremony was adorned with dahlias, home-grown at The Inn At Woodstock Hill. The flowers were arranged and placed by the Durst ladies (groom’s aunt and cousin!) of Garden Gate Florist, a Woodstock-local floral shop.
