Engagement Photos at Carolyn’s Sakonnet Vineyard
This Rhode Island vineyard was a big surprise to me, because since I left the land of pinot noir in Oregon, I haven’t seen a great vineyard since…until Jen and Brad’s engagement session! Carolyn’s Sakonnet Vineyard is a grand, beautiful vineyard in the middle of nowhere in Rhode Island (well, so it seems). There’s just old farmland, but this gorgeous vineyard reminds me of Oregon, or Napa Valley, California? But super close to the water. They say it’s a “coastal haven that’s closer than you think.” I’m so glad Jen and Brad looked into reserving time to photograph at this haven. It is located at 162 West Main Road in Little Compton, Rhode Island.
When Unknown Love Crosses Paths, and then becomes Known.
Years ago, before I got married, I thought, as I’m walking by hundreds of people daily, and imagining, what if one of these people in the crowd is actually my future husband? Like him being around, without even knowing it. Like, what if I actually walked by him in the coffee shop? So funny to think this actually was true for Jen and Brad. This fun-loving couple actually went through the same college classes and parties, but they did not know eachother. It was not until after college graduation that a spark of communication started! Jen and Brad got to really know each other through mutual friends, and good times skiing and snowboarding the slopes in New Hampshire.
Engagement Session Hair and Makeup
Jen was the lucky recipient of one of the gift certificates for engagement hair and makeup artistry by Jade Silvestri. The advantage of getting hair and makeup done for the engagement session is that makeup adds more facial dimension, and adds more of a “pop” to the eyes and lips! Jade does awesome work, and if you’re needing a hair or makeup artist for your engagement shoot or wedding, you can contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
A Marvelous Mix of Settings for this Rhode Island Engagement Session
Carolyn’s Sakonnet Vineyard has two large tall grassy fields, a wide-open overlook over the Watson reservoir, a large lawn, a barn, and rows upon rows of grapes. You can walk over the hill for a pretty view, breathe that fresh air! Even better, enjoy a glass of local wine. I’m not kidding about how gorgeous this place is.
One thing I love are the dozens and dozens of Vermont Cedar Chairs. I’ve never seen these chairs before, and there are a LOT of them. Jen and Brad got a chance to test out these interesting Vermont cedar chairs, and suprisingly, they’re kinda comfortable!
Jen and Brad will be getting married in October at the Barn at Wight Farm in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, which I truly love! I can’t wait to photograph their day, and tell a story in photographs that will speak to their future generations. It’s going to rock!
