Bunnell Farm: A Litchfield, CT Wedding Venue
This Saturday, July 15th, I will be photographing Lauren and Tom’s wedding at this rustic venue called Bunnell Farm. A couple of years ago, I photographed Lauren’s brother’s camp wedding, where it was so full of down-to-earth friends and family, many of which I will be seeing again! I met up with Tom and Lauren to poke around the farm and do their short, mini-engagement session just before a massive thunderstorm! I can’t wait to photograph their wedding, especially with my long lens at a distance (that makes for awesome ceremony shots!)
A Real Farm Venue
Bunnell Farm really is a farm, so expect the sights and scents of horses! If you look around the barns you’ll discover evidence like old milk cans and various knick-knacks that speak of a working dairy farm of long ago. Bunnell Farm is vast pastoral landscape and a cluster of barns and sheds, and one of them of which house a few beautiful horses. If you love the smell of horses, sweet hay, and don’t mind warm country breezes, you’ll love it here.
DIY Country Wedding
I cannot wait to see how Lauren and Tom’s DIY wedding will unfold! The barn and grounds is like a blank slate, and is the canvas for those who by themselves can conquer in creating a kick-butt party in the country. There’s no standard spot for your ceremony spot, the bar, or photo booth, it’s all up to you! Creative minds of those who want a casual, relaxed event can have a heyday! You can browse through their storage room and use whatever rustic signs or decor you’d like. I also love the fact that the big barn already has decorative lights, so don’t need to worry about that!
