Wedding Sneak Peeks!
AH! I can’t hold these images back any longer! I’ve decided to post some sneak peeks from Lauren and Tom’s farm wedding from last Saturday. Lauren and Tom got married at Bunnell Farm, which is a real non-traditional, rustic venue. Everyone wants their wedding to be “rustic” somehow, but Lauren and Tom did this easily by just having their celebration with so many friends and family at a farm. As I mentioned in my previous post about Bunnell Farm, the venue has the clues that it was a working farm long ago, and you can’t get more “rustic” than this.
Their First Look
The first look is when the bride and groom have a special time where they see eachother before the ceremony. It’s not traditional, but it has become a tradition in this decade! It’s a special intimate moment, and an opportunity for some more portraits before all the guests arrive. Often times, we get right into photographing the bride and groom hanging out with the wedding party and/or family members.
I love photographing through branches and leaves for perspective or “vignette”. Some people ask, how is it that the black and white images look so good? All I do is just desaturate 100%. A lot of times a black and white photo looks good due to a pattern of highlights and shadows.
Hey Trailing Twine followers, do any of these faces look familiar? I photographed Matt (Lauren’s brother) and Liz’s wedding a couple of years ago. Here they are in the wedding party celebrating with Lauren and Tom! Love all you people!!!!!
Outdoor Ceremony
Lauren and Tom’s ceremony was at Bunnell Farm, near the pastures. There was an area that didn’t have a lot of grass growing on it, but if you shoot at the right angles, you won’t see much dirt. Here are some photos I cherry-picked out, no Photoshop!
When Tom jumped in and photobombed our big family photo, LOL
Simple Wedding Decor with Succulents
My dear friends know that I have a succulent collection, and my husband still doesn’t know why people (like me) love succulents so much. I say it’s because they’re cute. Can plants be cute? So of course I just died in succulent heaven at Lauren and Tom’s wedding when I saw all of these farm tables decked with clusters of succulents as wedding guest favors. I like this idea because they also served as the table centerpieces. If you’re planning a budget DIY wedding, keep in mind that your wedding favors can also be centerpieces, which can cut down on decoration costs.
I love this idea of stringing up photographs from the past as memories to share at a wedding. Now that everything is digital these days, when was the last time you printed a picture?

Taco Bar Catered by Chanterelle
Chanterelle is a caterer out of Massachusetts that collaborates with local farms, to provide locally-sourced food for special events. As I am a Mexican food lover, the taco bar met my approval. Soft corn tortillas, and warm chicken…delish. Also, I loved the idea of having a variety of pies for this farm wedding. I was eye-ing this blueberry pie (even though I’m allergic to blueberries now) because it looked so good! I love cake, but pies are a perfect feature to a farm wedding. Yum.
“Golden Hour” Portraits on Our Sunset Stroll
Aaah, so nice to just relax and take a stroll with your lover. One of my favorites moments on a wedding evening is to just photograph the newlyweds having a quiet moment away from the excitement…just for a little bit. I usually plan this time in the timeline, and inform the DJ that we’re going out. This time, within an hour or half hour before sunset, offers beautiful sunlight that my photographer eyes totally swoon for…
I literally flipped out when I came across this image in my computer. You know that feeling when you see a photo that moves you so much that you want to post it like, RIGHT NOW.
Bunnell Farm Wedding Reception Photos
Lauren’s mom and aunt having fun with this crazy Gif Booth! It creates and sends fast-motion Gifs, similar to the Instagram app, Boomerang (except cooler)
Well, that’s it for sneak peeks. There are SOOOO many really awesome images, and I can’t wait to share it all with you on the online gallery!
